V&A japan centre

Going to V&A and the Japan centre in the same day was an interesting experience. It let me directly compare the two contrasting images Japan holds. One of minimalism from Shinto religious origins, and the other modern day Japan from the explosion of popularity of manga and anime. Both of which are highly obsessed over by consumers.

Japanese design is about the thoughtfulness and appreciation of an object and it’s heritage or form. This mindfulness means the items become more than an object, they become multi-sensory because of the care taken.
